The Process
How we got started together
- Started with an online workshop
- Working out a marketing plan, suggestions for offers
- Working out design approaches (3 different ones, then refining)
- Creating a website based on Weebly (Specialty: presenting the existing portfolio as well as possible)
- Social Media set to get started
- Teaser direct email, email templates to communicate with the contact base
- Sales Coaching
The Beginning
Online Workshop
Felikss had ordered his project just before the first lockdown in 2020. Unusual circumstances that nobody saw coming. That’s why we left it to him to change his mind. But that was out of question for him:
Lockdown or not – the plan is set
So we go started. As so often with a document of trigger questions that should help Felikss prepare for the initial workshop. Because Felikss is also based in Munich, a personal meeting was the original plan. That changed to an online meeting now – no problem.
Starting with a plan
Marketing Plan & Polishing offers
Based on Felikss’ input his marketing and sales plans were created. Here we put down which target groups there are, how to tackle them, what the sales funnels (on- and offline) should look like.
In the same breath it made sense to specify the services he offered – there’s a big need for good images for social media these days, for instance.
Branding
3 Designs for the Electro Fan
Felikss as a person has his very own style. He is cosmopolitan, wears bright colors – and likes electronic music. Our designs gave him the choice between more conservative and bolder approaches.
Boldness wins.
Indeed (as we usually advise) the bolder approach “won”: Electro concept.
Tip!
Choosing the bravest version is often to be advised, because especially if you don’t have a giant budget, being bold brings you more attention and is therefore more effective.
Website builders are ok
New website, new luck
Felikss did have an existing website for B2C, but he wanted something completely new for his new ‘baby’. The budget should go into content and design, rather than tech, so we recommended the website builder Weebly. This also ensured that he would be independent later on and could add or change something at any time.
Being where the customer is
Expansion of the social media channels
The new target groups and messages needed new channels (Felikss had so far been active mainly on facebook). So LinkedIn company and personal profiles were set up and a new Instagram channel was created.

Social Media Set & Campaign for the start
A website is usually not enough these days.
Where do you want to hand out business cards and information, when in lockdown?
A social media set was ordered retrospectively. To ensure that Felikss could work on it on his own in the future, we made Canva templates for that.
Ready to shoot
The start-campaign was completely designed and implemented, be it storyline, layouts or captions. OVERW8 also provided a professional social media dashboard for cross channel posting.
Predicting the future isn’t enough
Informing contacts professionally
Felikss was also set up with a functional mail template for the user friendly newsletter tool Mailjet – including the text for the first newsletter.
Life is what happens.
while you
Felikss was just about to press the button for that first info-mail, when it turned out an old shoulder injury (crucial for him as a photographer) needed another surgery.
Unpleasant, but at least now he had a clear plan for afterwards – knowing he had all the tools he needed to get back to business afterwards.
He could also build on a sustainable new role for himself. He was no longer ‘just’ a photographer, but an entrepreneur.
